Owning a tea set basket is growing in popularity because they are so handy to use and versatile. Water is the only drink in the world that is consumed more than tea products.  Tea has been given the reputation of helping the body as well as keeping you hydrated.  It is no wonder then that so many people are turning to tea set baskets for virtually every day use.

The function of a tea set basket is to store your non-food items that are related to your tea serving.  The tea set basket can be tucked away in a kitchen cabinet or even left on the counter to proudly display.  Either way that it is stored, the tea set basket is ideal for storage of all your tea serving needs.

When it is time to serve tea, you can take out your tea set basket and remove the tea cups, tea saucers, tea stir spoon, sugar container and cream container.  Most tea set baskets have a handy tea tray to set all the tea items out on to serve friends, company and relatives.

The first thing that you will need to do is rinse all of the containers and items with hot water.  This will allow them to air dry quickly without becoming spotted.  Even though the items were in the tea set basket, more than likely they have collected a little bit of dust.  If nothing else they have been handled putting them in the tea set basket and then removing to use for tea.  Rinsing them in hot water will help to remove finger print smudges and reduce any germs that might be on the tea items.

After you have served tea and everyone has had a wonderful time together, you are ready to refill your tea set basket.  You will need to empty the sugar, honey and cream containers.  You do not want to leave food items inside the tea set basket because they can accidently spill and ruin the basket.  Depending on the climate that you live in, food items in the tea set basket can also attract the attention of bugs and this would be a complete disaster.

After everything is emptied and clean, you should wrap each tea cup, tea saucer and tea stir spoon in a soft, lint free white cloth.  Line the bottom of the tea set basket with a thick linen towel.  Lay the tea tray in the bottom of the tea set basket and place another thick towel on top of it.  Next, carefully place each of the cups, saucers and spoons in the basket.

Wrapping and using towels or cloths will help to protect the tea items from being scratched, nicked or even chipped.  You do not want spoons clinking against fine china.  Also, wrapping will prevent dust and grime build up on the items, particularly if you do not have tea on a daily basis.

Store the tea set basket on the counter top where it cannot be knocked off or even inside a cabinet.  It is recommended that you do not store it in a damp place because the moisture could become trapped inside the tea set basket and cause a mildew problem or leave a musty odor on the tea set basket items.
