A tea basket is a very popular item that is widely available both on the Internet and at various local stores. There are many different types of tea basket accessories available for your personal selection.
Tea Tray
One nice tea basket accessory that is very popular is a small tea tray. The tea tray is ideal for setting the tea basket on to display both. For example, you can set the tea basket with matching tea tray on your kitchen counter top or perhaps even as eye-catching centerpiece for your dining room table.
A tea tray will help prevent the bottom of the tea basket from accidental spills. If a tea basket is not lined with some sort of moisture barrier, all of the contents can become completely ruined if there is an accidental spill of water from the kettle or other spills even.
Old Fashioned Tea Kettle
Another wonderful tea basket accessory item is a small tea kettle. You can find these in all price ranges. They are ideal for heating a small amount of water to then pour into a cup with a tea bag that was part of the tea basket. Many people have fond memories of the tea kettle whistling in the kitchen letting everyone know that the water was hot for a nice afternoon tea.
Sweet Natural Honey
What would be the fun of tea without natural honey? Honey is a natural sweet that melts rather quickly. It is ideal as a tea basket accessory. You can place a jar of honey on the tea tray so that the tea basket and the honey are side by side. When a cup of tea is made, simply place a small amount of honey in the piping hot cup and stir. Your tea will have a slightly sweet flavor without too many additional calories!
Paring Knife and Citrus Fruits
Many people like the light flavor of citrus added to their teas. If you are going to give a tea basket as a gift to someone a wonderful accessory would be to provide them with a nice paring knife and several pieces of citrus fruit. You want to give fruits such as a lemon, lime, orange and even grapefruit.
The gift recipient then can use the new knife to slice a small section of the citrus fruit. Place the fruit in the bottom of the tea cup. Place a small, individual tea bag and pour steaming hot water into the tea cup. The water will leach out a small amount of citrus flavoring into the tea. You can even eat the citrus slice after your tea is all consumed.
House Warming Gift
An ideal house warming gift is to take all of the above items and combine them into one large basket. You would have the tea basket, tea tray, tea kettle, honey, paring knife and various citrus fruits all in one very large basket. You can do this as a welcoming gift for someone new in the neighborhood or even as a gift for someone that has bought their first house or condominium.
